Chocolate pudding, cookie crumbs, and gummy worms combine for a spooky Halloween dessert in fun cups.
# Components:
→ Pudding
01 - 1 (3.9 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix
02 - 2 cups cold whole milk
03 - 1 cup whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip)
→ Cookie Crumble Dirt
04 - 20 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed (e.g., Oreo)
→ Decorations
05 - 16 to 24 gummy worms
06 - 8 oval-shaped cookies (e.g., Milano or Nilla Wafers), for tombstones
07 - Black food-safe gel icing, for writing on tombstones (optional)
# Method:
01 - In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate pudding mix with cold milk and whisk vigorously for 2 minutes. Allow to stand for 5 minutes until thickened.
02 - Gently fold the whipped topping into the pudding mixture until the texture is smooth and well blended.
03 - Place chocolate sandwich cookies in a zip-top bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into fine crumbs, creating a dirt-like texture.
04 - Spoon a layer of the pudding mixture into the bottom of each of the 8 small clear cups or jars.
05 - Sprinkle a layer of crushed cookie crumbs over the pudding in each cup.
06 - Continue layering pudding and cookie crumbs, finishing with a generous layer of cookie crumbs on top.
07 - If desired, write spooky phrases or 'RIP' on the oval cookies using black gel icing. Insert a decorated cookie into each cup to represent a tombstone.
08 - Add 2 or 3 gummy worms to each cup, allowing some to hang over the edge for a playful effect.
09 - Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
