# Method:
01 - Heat the oven to 400°F.
02 - In a small bowl, combine softened butter, parsley, dill, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and black pepper; mash until smooth and set aside.
03 - Cut the baguette into eight 0.4-inch thick slices and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
04 - Arrange the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
05 - Spread a generous layer of lemon herb butter over each warm toast.
06 - Top each toast with 1 to 2 sardines, season with black pepper, and garnish with optional capers, red onion, or chili flakes as desired.
07 - Present toasts warm and crisp for optimal texture and flavor.
