# Method:
01 - In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
02 - Cut in cold unsalted butter using a pastry blender or fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
03 - Stir in grated sharp cheddar cheese and finely diced jalapeños until evenly distributed.
04 - Gradually pour in whole milk, mixing until a soft dough forms. Avoid overworking the dough.
05 - Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat to approximately 3/4-inch thickness.
06 - Using a donut cutter or two round cutters about 3 inches and 1 inch in diameter, cut out donuts and holes. Re-roll scraps and repeat as needed.
07 - Pour 2 inches of vegetable oil into a heavy-bottomed pot and heat to 350°F.
08 - Fry donuts in batches for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden brown and puffed.
09 - Transfer fried donuts to a paper towel-lined rack. While warm, sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles for garnish.
